If you leave out a rate, a tax bill, or a term, that field comes back as not available. The connection does not substitute the sample numbers typed into the on-page calculators, and it does not invent a survey this site has not published.

A payment needs the numbers you mean
Send the price, down payment, rate, term, yearly tax, yearly insurance, and monthly HOA. Zero is a real answer when you send 0. Leaving the rate blank does not silently use this week's 30-year print.
Rate tools are different. published_rates with no product returns the snapshot already on the site, including the date and the survey name. Ask for a product this site does not print, such as a 5/1 ARM, and the rate is not available.

The connection repeats this site. It does not shop a loan for you.
Is this a lender quote or a rate lock?
No. The tools return the same illustrative calculator results and dated national survey prints already on this site. A lender sets the offer.
Do I need an API key?
No. The connection is public and read-only. It does not take an application or store what you ask.
What happens when a number is missing?
The field comes back as not available. The tools do not fill in a rate, tax, or term you did not send, and they do not invent a series this site has not published.
